So this never happened before...sim struck by lightning!

Poor Kristina...

So I got Seasons just a few weeks ago, during the Black Friday specials. I haven't gotten to play through every season yet, since I've been busy making and testing mods. Last night was only the third thunderstorm or so to happen for me.  The other ones my sims went through, they were safe and sound inside their homes. Nothing to really worry about except for a minor power outage or scared pets freaking out.

Not last night.

I was playing my "Holiday Twins" household, which has Kristina and Holly Kringle.  They are nieces of Father Winter(background story and not actually related to in game Santa).  Kristina is trying out the new Style Influencer career while her sister is currently self employed as one of Santa's helpers.  She's been mainly keeping busy baking sugar cookies and writing to her pen pals. Any who!  Kristina had decided to work from home last night, and part of her assignment was to interview three people about fashion. She hurried up and interviewed her sister but needed two more people to talk to.  She told her sister it would be nice to chat with the neighbors and invited her along.

First they stopped by my "Secret Fairy Twins" household--which is Tinkerbell and Periwinkle from the Disney animated films.  Only Periwinkle was home, and she happily answered Kristina's style questions.  Not wanting to wait around for Tink to show up, Kristina decided to run over to the little picnic area next door to find a final interviewee.  She was in luck! A few people were having an impromptu BBQ.  Kristina started chatting with everyone and knocked out her last interview right away.

I had to go afk, and since the weather looked FINE and I didn't see any imminent threats on screen, I left the game playing. Kristina and Holly were happy making new friends, I didn't want to interrupt them. Surely nothing could go wrong in the five minutes I was away?

Wrong!

I casually come back to my computer thinking Kristina and Holly would still be talking to the neighbors and having a good 'ol time.  Instead, I see Holly with a bright red plumbob over her head, struggling to run back home in an exhausted and stressed state. It was pouring rain and she had seen something terrible happen.  Well, the other sims that were inside during thunderstorms always got scared, so maybe that was it?  Nope.  I switch to Kristina and she is burnt to a crisp with glowing blue eyes. What the??  She looked just like Wiley E. Coyote after a failed assassination attempt on Road Runner.  If only the umbrella she was holding over her head was nothing but frame and burnt canopy.  That would have completed the look perfectly.

Now, I'm not going lie.  I've killed sims on purpose before(who hasn't??).  I've been playing this game since it first came out in 2000--that makes me 33 now in case you were wondering. :P  So of course I've gotten curious and bored.  Purposely killing your sims is fairly easy.  Them dying on accident used to happen a lot during the first 2 versions of the game.  However, Maxis has 'evolved' the sims' intelligence enough to not set their house on fire from cooking cereal with a level 1 cooking skill anymore.  i.e. it's a bit hard for your sims to die from something not age related, unless they are very careless.

Since playing Sims 4 the past few years, I've only had a handful, well not even that, amount of sims die on their own.  Two of those happened from this Seasons pack alone! lol.  Needless to say, I'm going to have to be more careful.  The older I get, the more attached I get to the sims I create.  I haven't even been able to allow a sim to fully age and die a natural death because of this. :P

Well, after Kristina got struck by lightning multiple times--did I forget to mention it was multiple? That's what her negative moodlet said.  I wish I knew how many times she could have gotten struck by lightning in a few minutes...hmm.  She wobbled home and jumped in the shower.  The negative moodlet disappeared and was replace by an energized one from the lightening strike.  Her eyes were still glowing and she had a +1 to her energy.  She also had the option to go for an "energized jog".  By then, the storm had died down so I let her out again.  I wanted to see what an energized jog looked like.  Pretty much a normal jog, but with glowing eyes.

Kristina after her shower.  Eyes still glowing, but at least her skin isn't burnt anymore.

And that was it.  I had to go to bed at that point.  I really hope Kristina can stay away from anymore lightening strikes in the future.  I'm actually trying to let her and her sister age naturally.  I can't promise anything, as they are still in the young adult stage, and I'm enjoying their company!  But, I will try.  Maybe they will meet someone and start a family?  We will see....  ;)
